Description: The USC School of Cinema-Television's First Look Film Festival held at the DGA Theater in April and October, offers studio executives, agents and managers an advanced look at the next generation of filmmakers, while providing a vital outlet for new creative visions. Young filmmakers come to be seen and veteran industry executives come to see and scout new talent. The comprehensive four-program festival features 30 advanced short film projects produced by students in class workshops or as independent projects and is FREE to the public. The festival ends on Saturday, October 9th with a culmination of all films re-screened at USC's famed Frank Sinatra Hall in the Norris Theatre Complex.

Spanning a wide range of genres, from dramas to documentaries to comedies, the films are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Animated shorts are screened at the First Look Film Festival in April.

Among the prominent filmmakers who have come through the festival are Gary Fleder (Kiss the Girls), Luke Greenfield (The Animal, Girl Next Door), Bryan Singer (X-Men, Apt Pupil), John Turtletaub (While You Were Sleeping).
